What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?

The last six digits of the VIN code are a unique serial number that uniquely identifies the vehicle or truck. The final digit is also the check number, and the other numbers are transliterated to numbers. The first digit is assigned a value of 8, and each subsequent number increases in value by one, until the seventh digit is nine, which then becomes two. Then, the entire VIN is transformed back into its original form by multiplying each digit's weight by 11. If the result is similar to the check digit, then the VIN is valid.

Data Transfer
